Unwelcome Visitor..

Was peacefully surfing the internet on travel insurance in Mr Lim's room when this stupid flying creature flew past my head back and forth at least 3 times. Totally traumatised, I screamed and ran out of the room before Mr Lim and Kim came up to my rescue. The bird rested on the curtain railings and refused to budge. Kim had to close the room and use a stick to shoo it out of the balcony. But the brainless bird didn't know how to get out of the room. It kept slamming onto the room door obviously not conscious that the exit was on the other side. Left with no choice, Kim caught it with a plastic bag and released it out of the balcony after an eternity, 30minutes.

The bird not only caused a mayhem but also much destruction to Mr Lim's room. There were brown droppings of liquid in parts of the room and the wall was stained with I don't know what. Feathers were found on Mr Lim's bedsheets and pillow as well. That's not all. The bird actually flew onto the champion bear that I bought. Upon inspection, I found no stains but the bear will definitely be put under the sun tomorrow.

Just washed my hair a few hours ago but I'll definitely shower my head again. Totally disgusted with the brown drippings. Hope it doesn't bring me bad luck.

Perfect Gift..

Received the best birthday gift ever from Federer this morning. A victory in the Masters Cup over Hewitt. What more can I ask for? Haven't received a single present from any of my friends yet. Reason? This year, my birthday is smacked right in the middle of the examination period. Ok, Actually, I received many SMS right after midnight on my birthday. Thanks everyone. Swiss Miss didn't reply them because she was in her beauty sleep, preparing for the big present from Federer the next morning at 6am.

I know someone has bought me a present already. In fact, the present was brought all the way from Hong Kong and it's pink in colour. Thanks a lot :) Another suspect, Federer's number 1 fan, admitted to me without any hesitation that she has not gotten me anything. Thanks for being so frank. Perhaps feeling guilty, she sent me an e-card with a 'car' right after that. haha. Thanks, I know you won't forget my birthday because it falls on the same day as your sickening cousin. Anyway, I think Federer's SLK which he won this morning is much nicer :) Also, I'm sure Miss Quah would get me something, just don't know exactly what it is.

Won't really be feeling disappointed if I do not receive any more presents (I'm not being truthful here, haha). As the saying goes, the more the merrier. Anyhow, I'm really pleased with my presents so far from my family members and Federer. To top it off, I received a 2005 table calendar from SIA just a few hours ago. Specially delivered. Can't believe I'm so easily contented. Definitely a sign of old age..

Two Down..

Three more to go. Yes, exams. I've to admit I've not really started anything concrete for the next 3 papers. Have been too engrossed with mirco and econometrics. Sad to say, hard work doesn't payoff. Really disappointed with econometrics. There's nothing I can do about it now. Hiaz.

Ah Beng and Ah Bang would be contesting in the finals of the Singapore Idol. Can't stand Ah Beng. His english is really terrible. Can't pronounce words properly. I can't make out the lyrics of what he's murmuring. He got in because he has the support of Ah Lians. Singaporeans are so shallow. Although Ah Bang is much better than Ah Beng, it would be a close one to call. Ah Lians are more willing to part with their money than the Malay community. Neutrals will prefer Ah Bang more though. Anyway, I don't really care who wins. Not interested in both Ah Beng and Ah Bang.

Federer will be meeting Safin in less than 12 hours time. Contemplating whether to wake up to watch. Safin has a secret weapon now: Federer's ex-coach. He would definitely come up with a game plan for Safin to defeat Federer. Pride is at stake here. Federer and his gf were the ones who terminated his services. I bet vengence is in his mind.

Really have to start working on M&B and markets already. Oh yah, not to forget translation. Shall force myself to speak and read Mandarin for the next fews days. Yes, and writing as well.

Freaking Alphabets..

Have been practicing maths for econs problems for the past 1.5 hours, as in how to maximize utility, maximize profit, setting up the Lagrange etc. I seldom solve any problem perfectly. Always encounter some errors. Reason? I hate alphabets. If only they could use numbers. At least you can check whether you are correct. The worst part is that of all the alphabets, they have to use similar ones such as a and q, sometimes together with the number 9, which all look the same with my disgusting cursive handwriting. And how they love the alphabet l, which can be confused with the number 1. That's not all. There's firm 1 and 2 together with period 1 and 2 in 1 question. Why can't they change it to firm i and firm j instead? How I love econs.

Myskina Sharapova..

Went shopping for stationery just now and came across something that I really like. Really fascinated by it. In fact, I can still picture it at the back of my mind while I'm studying. haha. Can't decide between the light blue or the beidge one now. It takes up quite a bit of space and at the current state, my room can't accommodate it. I think I have to banish some of my soft toys into the cupboard or onto my bed just to make way for it. Will definitely get it after the exams. No time to reorganize my room now.

Couldn't stop laughing when I saw Federer's new hair cut on the atp website. Maybe its his attire that makes him look funny. Still prefer him when he ties up his hair neatly and wears his Nike sports gear. He looks utterly gross in the picture. But 2 cancerians I know beg to differ. Both say he looks much better. Whatever it is, good luck for the Houston Masters Cup, Federer. Swiss Miss won't have the energy to stay up to support you. I'll do so on 21st November, if you are still in the tournament.

Also, I'm rooting either Myskina or Sharapova to win the WTA Championships. Would prefer Myskina actually. Enough of Serena Williams and Amelie Mauresmo. Sick and tired of them.

Masters Cup..

Federer has been drawn into the easier of the 2 groups. Not sure if its a blessing in disguise. Hope his injury has healed. Don't think I would be supporting him as fanatically as last year since exam starts so early this sem. Furthermore, he has nothing to play for, except the Mercedes Benz, which he has already won last year. Don't think he'll mind another one for his gf. haha. Come to think of it, I want him to prove to that 'anti-foreigner' billionair that there are many other better players in the world than his beloved US. Male US tennis players are no longer dominating. With the exception of Roddick, I don't see any potential top 10 player. Fish, Dent and co. have been nothing but disappointments. I'm not complaining as long as Federer dominates and wins more Grand Slams. He's really a joy to watch. Suddenly, I can't wait to watch him live in action. haha.

Christina came over to my place a few days ago when she went to her old house to collect their mail. Was disappointed when her sis, 5-year old Anne Khoo the brat, wasn't with her. And yesterday, Barbara and El-bien actually saw her with her mum at Katong. Urghh!. Really miss her chubby cheeks and her adorableness.

The new neighbour has shifted in. A family of 5 that consists of 3 kids. Haven't really socialised with them yet. I saw the children but they are nowhere as cute as Anne. No one can replace her. I think I shall pay her a visit soon after my exams :)

Embarrassing Moments..

Almost died of embarrassement while leaving school just now. I was crossing the road to the car park when my right slipper broke and it almost flung onto the middle of the road. The worst part was there were so many people at the shuttle bus stops. I didn't know where to hide my face. I tried to repair the slipper to no avail. Finally, after calming down, I decided to call Miss Kong to 'rescue' me. Felt so relieved when I knew she was still in school.

The worst was not over. As I made a U-turn to pick Miss Kong, my judgement was so poor that I almost banged into the kerb of the bus stop. Had to reverse my car at least twice. I think I heard a few people sounding their horns at me. And poor Miss Kong had to walk barefooted a few steps and suffer from such humiliation and pain because I couldn't position my car right in front of her, hiaz. Feel so guilty. Thank you and sorry, Miss Kong :)

By some sheer luck and lenient marking, I actually passed my micro test. Was really in a terrible mood for the past few days. I can't remember when was the last time I was so worried about test results. Anyway, I know I'm just fortunate this time. I wouldn't want to go through this feeling again. My econs notes are calling for me already..

Birthday Greetings..

To my bestest friend,

Happy 24th Birthday! Come on, cheer up, its your birthday in 20 minutes so don't sound so sian. Letting go is difficult but life goes on. You either live happily or in pain for the rest of your life. Why not choose the former? You are in control of your own life and emotional state so at least give it a try. Easier said than done though, haha.

Shan't crap anymore. Hope all your birthday wishes will come true and all the best in whatever you do. Once again, happy birthday!

Low Productivity..

Spent half the afternoon on Econometrics and I'm 'proud' to announce that I've finished reading a mere 2 chapters, and I dare not even declare that I'm 80% sure of what the hell is going on for first differencing, fixed effects and random effects methods. The only consolation that I have for myself is that I'm left with 1 chapter for this freaking module and guess what? That chapter consists of a grand total of 40 pages. Hiaz. Oh yah, and I still have the mathematics and matrix stuff to cover. Not to forget tutorials. Don't even know if they are worth looking through after seeing last year's exam paper. My only hope is that Randy will provide us with some exam hints.

By some miracle, my tuition kid actually passed her maths exam. Frankly speaking, I was expecting her to fail. Her mum sounded happy when she told me over the phone that her daughter had barely passed. I didn't know how to react. I was really annoyed after going through the paper with her as I've taught her most of the stuff that was being tested. But since her mum is pleased with her grades, why should I even bother to be angry when I'm being paid? All I can say is : Expectations differ. I remember getting 60plus for my Maths exam in primary 5 and Barbara was so disappointed in me that she didn't speak to me for the rest of the day. It proved even more effective than scolding as I started to really make an effort to solve problem sums. Maths was a breeze after that incident. I wonder when that would happen to my tuition kid. She ain't stupid, just plain lazy.

Advanced Greeting..

Hi Wanpei,

Happy 22nd Birthday! Work hard for your FYP (you should know what I'm talking about, haha). Anyway, I think you are doing a pretty good job so far, so keep up the good work, or rather, try to accelerate if possible :)
