Well Wishes..

Was relieving the golden moments of Federer's Wimbledon truimph. Almost forgot how good he is. His artistery, silky touches, top spin forehands, slice backhands, great footwork, all round coverage of the court are simply amazing. Federer is the God of tennis. The Master doesn't rely on brute strength and power alone. The guy posseses tremendous finesse and glides round the court like a dancer. Damn, I miss watching him live in action. Sometimes I'm amazed at myself. I could actually watch the match just now as though its live. I think I'm mad. I laughed till tears rolled down my eyes when Hewitt's 2nd serve went totally out of the court. And I watched with much amusement when Hewitt was made to scamper from one side of the court to the other when the Master was in control of the rally. Sometimes, I can't help but pity Hewitt. It's as though the Master is toying with him. The worst part for Hewitt's camp is that Hewitt is actually playing he's best tennis. A consolation for Hewitt: The Master comes from another planet.

Xmas is around the corner. For the 1st time in my 22years of existence, I won't be in Singapore for Xmas. The past 21 years' Xmas had been pretty uneventful. As this is the last Xmas before I graduate from school, I intend to make it a memorable one. I sincerely wish for a speedy reovery for my travelling companion. Being sick on a foreign land ain't fun. Luckily for myself, there's vast improvement in my neck.

Anyway, some well wishes before I leave..

24th Dec: All the best for results everyone.

25th Dec: Needless to say, Merry Xmas!

27th Dec: Happy Birthday, Ben! Enjoy your singlehood this year. Miss Sharapova should
have provided you with much entertainment on tv for the past few days!

29th Dec: Happy Birthday, Elayne!Hope you would enjoy your new job. And may you
receive lots of presents!

25th Dec to 2nd Jan: Good luck for your road show, my 'insincere' bestest friend!

Back to my last minute packing. Goodbye Singapore :)

Prof Wee..

Duck Ass has left for the Swiss Alps. Received an email from her reminding me to do the following tasks: Tape Monday's shows (that's understandable), feed her neopets daily (not too sure if she treated her ex-dog so well), sms her Federer's latest news (even though I won't be getting a reply from my cheapskate friend) and lastly, cut out and keep any newspaper articles regarding Federer. I'm so proud of myself in converting a totally sports-idiot lady to a tennis fanatic woman.

Prof Wee is finally back home, after 1.5months across the Causeway. Her return signifies less late nights for me which also means I've to sneak down like a thief to watch soccer in the wee hours of the night. The house will definitely be livelier and noiser with her return.I'll have to prepare for her a list of explanations each time I step out of the house. It's as if I've lost my freedom but I won't blame an old woman who has gone through 2 World Wars and took care of me since the day I was born.

Finally found the perfect pair of disposable contact lens myself after forking out $15. Sometimes, it's best to trust yourself rather than a qualified optician, who gives you all the weird brands and wrong presriptions for trial.

Hectic Thursday..

I just found out today that I've a frequent visitor at my blog. She has even put it under her Favourites. Don't know whether to feel honoured or not. Lucky I've not been bitching about her here :) Anyway, there's no way I could have done so since I haven't communitcated with her for 1.5 months.

I always thought I was a bad liar. But today, I acted so convincingly so many times that even someone was so impressed with me. And she couldn't stop laughing. Almost gave everything away and wasted my efforts. Seriously I hate lying. Had to do it today just to save her blushes. Don't know what kind of friend I have, haha.

Dinner was kind of awkward. Someone came just to fulfill his promise but in the end, he just called a drink while only me and Karren ate. He could have told us he didn't want to have dinner. It didn't help that I was the one who suggested the restaurant. The sweet thing was that he actually peeled 2 prawns for me. Reason was because I gave him a totally irrelavant answer to his question while I was too engrossed with the stupid prawn. Karren couldn't stop laughing and to save myself, I had to say I didn't hear properly because I was struggling with peeling the prawn. I thought girls were suppose to peel prawns for guys, definitely not the other way round.

Received my final presents today. Thanks, you know who you are. Two expected ones and another unexpected one. The unexpected one is a compliment which money can't buy. The compliment was really nice but it would have been much satisfying if it came from someone else.

Sports Update..

Roddick has fired Brad Gilbert. A wise move by Roddick considering he hasn't found a way past Mr Federer the whole of this year. Roddick has found a new coach but Mr Federer is in no hurry to do so. After all, he's doing perfectly well without one. All he needs is his gf.

2 points dropped by Man U despite Smith scoring. Kiss goodbye to the premiership title, Fergie. Maybe we should just concentrate on the League Cup. Oh, just realised that it ain't an easy task coz their next opponent? Yes, Chelsea. Guess it shall be the FA Cup then.

Was so engrossed reading last night that I didn't realise my neck was at some awkward position. The book was a page-turner. My neck felt stiff this morning. Thank goodness it has healed quite a lot after my squash session.

My favourite phrase from Tony Parsons' novel: "Only twice in your life do they pronounce you anything. The first is man and wife. The second is dead."

Aeroplane Show..

I'm in love with the aeroplane show. I look forward to every weekday 9pm. However, thanks to the stupid advertisements, the show has been starting later and later each night. Its getting on my nerves. One more time and I'm going to complain to Starhub. I'm very tempted to just rent the remaining episodes. Somehow, I managed to psycho myself to only do so next year, just before school starts.

Time really flies during the holidays. Went grocery shopping this morning followed by exercising. Was supposed to go to the optician and buy some stuff but was too physically exhasuted to do so. Ended up talking on the phone and reading for the whole afternoon. Before I knew it, it was time for dinner. And not long after, 9pm arrived. Soon, I'll be in bed. At least I achieved something today: Mastered the theme song for the aeroplane show. So pleased with myself. I pity my neighbours though. They'll be hearing the same song over and over again for at least the next month. Beautiful music ought to be appreciated :)

More Presents..

The presents are flowing in steadily. Received a tennis calendar from Wanpei and my bestest friend yesterday. Thanks, the wait was really worthwhile :) Still looking for a place to hang it up though. Also received another present from Quah a few hours ago. So far so good. Currently waiting for 2 more.

I just realised the last time I saw my best friend was in July. Come to think of it, I hardly saw my old friends during the semester. My life only revolved around econs for the past 5 months. Anyway, each time I see my best friend, she looks different. I really had a long chat with her just now. First time in at least 2 years. It's like getting to know her all over again. Or rather, getting to know the 'new' her.

Sometimes, I feel I'm really terrible at building or maintaining relationships and friendships. I seldom bother calling my friends and making an effort to get their birthday presents. I take people around me for granted. I felt really guilty when Cousin Wei called me a few days after my birthday at midnight to wish me a happy belated birthday. Even though it was belated, its better than nothing. Coz her birthday was like 3 months ago. I actually remembered on that day itself, but as usual, I didn't even bother smsing her. Another instance. Michelle called me a few days before the exams wishing me happy birthday and actually wanting to meet me for lunch. I told her I would call her after my exams to arrange. Well, it has been 5 days since my exams ended and I haven't called her.

Had a weird encounter just now. Was at Kinokuniya searching for a book to read when I felt a pair of eyes starring at me. I looked up out of curiousity.

Funny looking Man: Do you go to church on Sundays?
Swiss Miss: No. (was about to turn away when he continued)

Funny looking Man: Btw, do you want to go to church?
Swiss Miss: It's none of your business. (Walked away from him)

I almost wanted to reply him, "I'm a Buddhist" but decided against it at the last second. Anyway, the worst part was that he stayed put at the section which I was interested in for the next 10 minutes, depriving me of looking for the book to read. Sickening.

Fruitful Friday..

Was supposed to stay at home on Friday but was dragged out of the house by a phone call in the morning. I must say I had a rather fruitful day. Went to get my hair cut (feel much lighter now), and coincidentally, Serene was at that area too. I think the last time I saw her was when we had the disastrous meal at the Swiss restaurant. Also, met up with Roddick for dinner and to settle scores with the deceitful travel agency. Was quite shocked when I saw the manager. I was expecting some ah beng but he turned out to be a middle age man wearing a shirt and tie. Somehow, I didn't scold him as much as I wanted. Anyway, he was rather helpful. Much better than his 2 idiotic and irresponsible employees. He managed to get us a $100 discount each from booking with another travel agency. Anyhow, that would be the first and last time I'm going to have any dealings with that travel agency. A firm should not only care about profit maximizing at the expense of lying and cheating its customers. If you tell your customers something, you had better make sure you mean it. If you can't, don't make empty promises. Don't give me some cock and bull story when you can't fulfill them. I'm not some uneducated and ignorant person who buys your whole load of crap. Don't they know that trust and reputation is much more important than profit margins? Anyway, despite the rather unpleasant experience, I learnt a valuable lesson: Always trust your first instincts.
